Free Afroman! This strikes me as a lawsuit that should have never been filed. I’ll be surprised if the verdict is anything other than a zero. He is killing (opinion!) the plaintiffs lawyers on cross examination and the police officers are being made to look like babies by the defense.
When a lawsuit makes national headlines, Louisville personal injury attorney Brian Dettman pays attention. In a recent post, Dettman shared his candid take on the Afroman civil lawsuit, calling it a case that should have never been filed. “Free Afroman!” he wrote. “I’ll be surprised if the verdict is anything other than a zero.” As a litigator who files lawsuits regularly — and only when it makes sense — Dettman knows the difference between a strong case and one that could backfire in the courtroom. His takeaway: not every grievance belongs in front of a jury. If you have questions about whether you have a viable personal injury claim in Kentucky, contact Dettman Law for a free consultation.
I have been watching portions of the Afroman trial, and keep in mind — I’m a plaintiff’s lawyer. I sue people. Afroman, who was sued, is doing a fantastic job of skewering the plaintiff’s lawyers. He’s asking them questions and it’s my opinion that he is making the plaintiffs’ lawyers look dumb — like they should have never filed this lawsuit from the get-go.
Alternatively, his defense lawyer is doing a very nice job of making the plaintiffs seem overly sensitive and like it’s not that big of a deal. They’re essentially making them look like babies. I don’t even know how to say that nicely. I think this results in a zero verdict, and this is a lawsuit that should have never been brought in the first place.
