Why Lawyers Decline Cases And Why People Yell About It

Louisville Injury LawyerWhy Lawyers Decline Cases And Why People Yell About It

I’m going to do a video on why lawyers decline cases. It might help some people out there who are looking for a lawyer.

One of my favorite parts about being a lawyer is when people yell at me and scream at me because I will not take their case. People contact me with all sorts of cases, and I try my absolute best to respectfully decline — to tell them that’s not my area of law, I don’t work on cases like that, or it would cost me $25,000 to $50,000 of my own time and money to work on this particular case and I don’t see a viable case there. There might be another lawyer who sees it differently. Maybe you should call some other people.

But every once in a while, someone yells at me and tries to insinuate that I’m some shady character because I won’t work on their case — a case that is really not a viable case. I have to imagine that same person is then calling 20 to 30 other lawyers and doing the exact same thing. It’s fascinating sometimes.
